Between February 7th and February 14th, the Shelburne Police Service responded to 57 calls for service. Below are the highlights of calls.
On February 9th 2010 at approximately 8:45PM, Shelburne Police Service officers were on patrol and observed a male party driving a vehicle. The driver was known to police and was presently on conditions not to operate a motor vehicle. As a result the vehicle was stopped and the driver arrested. Charged with one count of Failing to Comply with Conditions is 41-year-old, Gaston Therrien of Shelburne. He was released and given a court date in Orangeville.
Traffic Stop results in Numerous Charges
On February 12th 2010 at approximately 6:50PM, Shelburne Police Service officers stopped a vehicle on County Road 124 for speeding. During the course of the traffic stop the driver was also found to be driving with an expired licence and permit. To top it off, the validation sticker had been stolen from another vehicle and placed over his expired one. Charged with one count of Possession of Stolen Property is 26-year-old Joshua Ashton of Wasaga Beach. He was also charged with speeding, driving with no licence and drive with no currently validated permit. He was released and given a court date in Orangeville.
Tires Slashed behind Local Tavern
On February 13th 2010 at approximately 1:24AM, Shelburne Police received a call to attend Tumbleweeds Restaurant. Two employee vehicles that were parked in the back had the vehicle tires slashed. Police are reviewing video from the location. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Shelburne Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
