Between February 14th and February 21st, the Shelburne Police Service responded to 68 calls for service.  Below are some of the highlights.

Police Investigating two separate Fail to Remain Collisions

The first fail to remain collision was reported to the Shelburne Police Service on the 16th of February. At about 10:30 a GMC pickup truck was parked on First Avenue near Owen Sound Street.  It was at this time that an unknown vehicle struck the pickup truck and the fled the scene.   

The second collision occurred on February 17th 2010 on Main Street near Adeline Street.  A dark coloured Pontiac van reversed striking a Honda Civic.  The driver of the van exited and examined the damage; however instead of reporting the accident, the driver left the scene of the accident.  Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage of the downtown core.  Anyone with information about these or any other accidents are encouraged to contact the Shelburne Police Service at (519) 925-3312.

Theft from Local Business Results in Charges for Employee

On February 4th 2010, Shelburne Police began an investigation into an internal theft that occurred at a local restaurant.  During the course of the investigation, police reviewed documents and video which resulted in 39-year-old Kelly SAUL of Shelburne being charged with thirteen counts of theft.  She is to appear at the Orangeville court house.
 

Search Warrant Executed on Owen Sound Street

On February 17th 2010, members of the Shelburne Police Service executed a search warrant at an apartment on Owen Sound Street.  The search resulted in a quantity of marijuana plants, marijuana seeds and marijuana bud being seized.  As a result of the investigation, 29-year-old Bryan Skidmore of Shelburne is charged with Production of a Substance, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon.  He is scheduled to appear at the Orangeville court house.
