Hallowe'en Safety Tips
 |
Shelburne Police
Service would again
like to remind this year's "TRICK OR TREATER'S" of tips to
ensure safety |
-
Young children should
always go trick or treating with an adult
-
Older children should
advise their parent/guardian of their route
-
Wear a light coloured
Halloween costume
-
Use make-up instead of
a mask for your Hallowe'en costume
-
Wear a short costume
-
Carry a flashlight
-
Do not criss-cross the
street
-
Never go out alone
-
Do not go inside a
strange house
-
Do not eat your treats
before a parent/guardian has checked them
-
Carry a cell phone, if
possible
-
Only go to homes with
lights on
-
Remember to say "Thank
you"
-
HAVE FUN
The Shelburne Police
Service would also like to remind the public that Throwing Eggs,
Soaping Windows, Smashing Pumpkins etc., are all classified as
Mischief, and are Chargeable Offences under the Criminal Code of
Canada. If found guilty, offenders could face up to two years in
prison.
Trespassing at Night
is also a criminal offence.
Let's all co-operate
to make Hallowe'en 2004 a safe and enjoyable one.
