July 27th - August 18th 2004

Between August 5 and August 8 the Police report that Annual Fiddlefest activities were busy with 10 liquor related charges being laid. Police also investigated five drug related incidents with youths being cautioned and small amounts of drugs being seized, and two persons charged.

Police also were called to a disturbance that landed a local man in jail for the night and arrested for Breach of the Peace.

Police also charged Kyle Clifford Farnell 27 years of Grand Valley with aggravated assault. Mr. Farnell will appear in Ontario Court on September 14, 2004. Police released that a fight occurred outside the beer gardens on Saturday August 7, 2004 in which the victim sustained serious head injuries. The victim was transported to Toronto St. Michael's Hospital, and at press time the victim was recovering at Orangeville Headwaters Healthcare Centre.

Police charged Gianluca Masterangelo 19 years of Brampton with possession of Marijuana. Court has been set for September 13, 2004.

Police charged Michael Petrich 19 years of Shelburne with possession of Marijuana and Driving While Suspended. Court has been set for September 13, 2004.

Police also charged Scott Kulik 22 years of Shelburne with Impaired and Drive Over 80 mgs. Several passengers were also charged with possession of liquor. Kulik was given a court date of September 14, 2004.

To sum up the incidents over the Fiddlefest weekend, the Police investigated two mischiefs. On August 5, 2004 a parked vehicle on Main Street had the driver's window kicked out. On August 7, 2004 between 6 pm and 10 pm, a red SUV parked on Simon Street had both sides scratched with a sharp object.

In other news, Police have recovered a purse that was turned into the office on August 2, 2004. The red leather purse was found on top of a phone booth at Owen Sound Street.

On July 30, 2004, two bikes were stolen from a residence on Owen Sound Street. One bike is described as a purple mountain bike and the other is described as a red/black Cherokee 21 speed bike.

Between August 15 and 16, 2004 unknown person(s) stole three ceramic ornaments from a store on Owen Sound. One was described as a white circular birdbath with a woman figurine. The other two were described as small figurines of a boy and girl holding a lantern.
