June 8th, 2005 - June 29th,
2005
On June 18th, 2005 Shelburne Police observed a motor vehicle
traveling north on Gordon Street, which was going at a high rate of
speed. The vehicle was stopped and during the investigation it was
revealed that the female passenger had been the victim of a domestic
assault. Charged is Kenneth Bauerle 39 years of Shelburne with
Assault Level 1. Mr. Bauerle was arrested and held for a bail
hearing and later released.
On June 29th, 2005
Shelburne Police responded to a 911 call in the area of Centre
Dufferin District High School. Initial reports indicated that a
student had been stabbed. As a result of an intensive investigation
police learned that a student had assaulted another but a knife had
not been used. Due to the severity of the injuries sustained by the
victim one youth has been charged with Assault Cause Bodily Harm.
On June 24th, 2005
the Shelburne Police were dispatched to an accident near Wellington
Street. On scene officers discovered that an off Road Motorcycle had
collided with a car. The 15 year old youth who was the driver of the
motorcycle sustained serious injuries to his leg. Charges are
pending in this matter. As proven by the above incident, the
Shelburne Police are once again warning residents of the inherent
dangers when unlawfully operating off road vehicles. Persons who
continue to disobey highway Traffic Act and off road vehicle
regulations will be charged accordingly.
On June 24th, 2005
the accused James George Simpson Smith aged 19 years of Shelburne
after being involved in a domestic altercation stole the family
Lincoln Navigator. He subsequently led police on a short pursuit
within the Town limits. The vehicle was stopped safely however the
accused fled on foot. After a brief foot chase, the accused was
apprehended and later charged with Assault, Mischief, Uttering
Threats, Dangerous Driving, Take Motor vehicle without owners
consent, Flight from police and driving without a licence. Mr.
Simpson Smith was held for a bail hearing.
