Victim Services is a police-based, community driven, organization of volunteers who are trained to provide much needed support to victims in their time of need.

Victim Service offers victims one-on-one assistance to help deal with the problems arising from an incident or situation.

Victim Services representatives work closely with community agencies to provide an efficient and comprehensive service to ensure that the needs of each victim are properly met.

Emergency Response Personnel may call on the program to provide immediate assistance or may recommend that the victim call the agency at a later date.

Dufferin Victim Services offers a 7 day, 24 hours support, general assistance, court accompaniment and an information and referral program to ensure that victimized individuals, their families and witnesses receive "immediate" support subsequent to their involvement following a crime of violence, aggression, abuse, adversity and disaster. Police based and volunteer driven, the agency's staff and volunteers provide a confidential service offering support and assistance thus limiting the effects of crises and helping victims to quickly return their lives to a desired degree of stability.
